Grab与foodpanda合并交易破裂 新加坡竞争监管机构结束相关调查

Grab's merger deal with FoodPanda breaks down, Singapore's competition regulator closes related investigations

GLONGHUI, April 1 | The Singapore Competition Authority said on Monday that negotiations between Grab Holdings and Delivery Hero have now broken down. Delivery Hero has been seeking to divest its FoodPanda business in some Southeast Asian markets, and media reports in September last year suggested that Singapore-based Grab might be a potential buyer. The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) said it began investigating this potential collaboration in early January. However, CCCS ended the investigation on February 23 after Delivery Hero cancelled a potential sale plan and Grab said it was not seeking any such deal. According to a report by research firm Momentum Works, Grab and FoodPanda control about 91% of Singapore's $2.5 billion food takeout market, of which Grab alone accounts for 63% of the market.
