Big Bank Rating | UBS: Lowering Xiaopeng Motor's Target Price to $8.3, Maintaining a “Neutral” Rating

Gelonghui Finance ·  Mar 29 17:05
Gelonghui, March 29 | Xiaopeng Motor announced last year that it had reached a strategic cooperation with Didi to launch a MONA brand smart electric vehicle, with the goal of mass production this year. According to a research report published by UBS, it is believed that new models will be a key driving force for future revenue growth. However, the bank believes that even if Xiaopeng MONA tries to achieve differentiation through ADAS to attract young consumers and drivers in need, it is difficult to balance specifications, costs, and niche market positioning. Considering the mature development of China's electric vehicle market and increased competition, UBS lowered Xiaopeng's revenue forecast for this year and next by 22% and 26%, still maintaining a “neutral” rating, and the target price of US stocks was lowered to 8.3 US dollars. MONA models, which are expected to be priced between RMB 100,000 and RMB 150,000, may not be able to compete with the cost leading car companies such as BYD in this price segment, and operating losses do not seem to be narrowing.
