The Zhitong Finance App learned that Ryan McCurdy, senior vice president of Lenovo Group (00992) and president of North America, said that the computing giant with revenue of 62 billion US dollars is preparing to launch new software based on new products to promote the AI PC revolution.
“There will be a steady stream of product development, adding AI PC hardware features, and having [independent software vendors] develop the latest AI features based on this hardware,” McCurdy said. “So we're actually paving the AI highway from a hardware perspective so we can make AI software cars go faster on the highway.”
The Chinese tech giant launched the first wave of AI PCs this year, including the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon and the ThinkCentre Neo Ultra compact desktop. What these PCs have in common is that in addition to the CPU and GPU, they also include an NPU to handle various artificial intelligence tasks.
But Lenovo is also preparing its own software — in addition to Google and Microsoft's products, this will set Lenovo's AI PC experience apart from the competition. Ryan McCurdy joined Lenovo in August last year and is a veteran industry leader from Intel. His 23 years of rich experience spans various fields such as smart infrastructure, smart devices, and market channels.

McCurdy said he is optimistic about Lenovo's future AI PC path, given the Windows 11 upgrade cycle and demand for artificial intelligence features.
