Malaysian Stocks Maintain Four-Day Winning Streak; Kobay Technology's Shares Rally 12%

Malaysian shares ended in the green territory on Tuesday, extending gains of the previous three sessions as investors remained upbeat.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI, the main gauge of Malaysian stocks, added 9.85 points to end 0.64% higher at 1,554.56. The day ranged between 1,541.36 and 1,556.71.

In economic news, Malaysia's industrial production index rebounded to 4.3% annually in January, reversing the 0.03% drop in the previous month, according to data released by the country's Department of Statistics today.

The sales value of Malaysia's Manufacturing sector rebounded to 3.2% growth annually in January to 152.7 billion ringgit versus a 4.2% contraction in the month prior. This marks the first expansion since June 2023, the Statistics Department said.

In corporate news, shares of the precision components manufacturer Kobay Technology (KLSE:KOBAY) jumped about 12%, and those of the latex gloves manufacturer Hartalega Holdings (KLSE:HARTA) rose 5% today.

Meanwhile, shares of the semiconductor assembly and test services provider Unisem (KLSE:UNISEM) gained about 3% on Tuesday's close.
