1. US stock options trading list
1.$NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$It plummeted by more than 5% last Friday, and options transactions doubled month-on-month to 4.07 million shares. The implied volatility rose to 80% for the sixth day in a row; the bullish volume was 62.7%, roughly the same as the previous day. A large order with a turnover of more than 100 million US dollars revealed that when Nvidia's stock price was 960.33 US dollars, bought a call that expired on June 21 and exercised rights of $820, and also sold a call that expired on May 17 and exercised rights of 720 US dollars.
Nvidia fought hard last Friday, from a 5% increase to a 5% drop, with a turnover of 103.5 billion US dollars. According to most market opinions, a large number of Nvidia call options were exercised on Friday, causing Nvidia's stock price to change. When options market makers sell call options, they need to buy stocks at the same time to hedge risks. Once a call option is exercised, the stock will be sold.
2,$Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM.US)$Options transactions nearly doubled last Friday, accounting for a bullish share of 80%, implying that volatility rose to the highest level in the year for three consecutive years. On the options chain, call trading volume and open positions with an exercise price of 120 US dollars due on May 17 were high, about 50,000 and 52,000, respectively.
Last week, TSMC's stock price rose 9% cumulatively, bringing its market capitalization to a record $759.1 billion, making TSMC return to the top ten listed companies in the world for the first time since 2020. Analysts at Morgan Stanley and J.P. Morgan Chase expect TSMC to grow further as AI-related revenue soars and strong pricing power. “Generative AI semiconductors are a clear growth driver for TSMC,” analysts at Morgan Stanley wrote in a March 7 report.
3.$Coinbase (COIN.US)$It continued to strengthen last week, rising nearly 25% and rising by nearly 6% before the market. On Friday, options trading volume doubled month-on-month to 530,000, with a bullish ratio of 64%. On the options chain, call volumes and open positions with an exercise price of $250 due on April 19 were high, about 16,000 and 20,000, respectively.
Stimulated by news that Bitcoin and Ethereum ETN were approved by the London Stock Exchange, Bitcoin broke through $71,000 in a day, reaching a record high. Bitcoin surpassed silver in market capitalization and became the eighth largest market capitalization asset in the world. Ethereum also surpassed $4,000, the first time since December 2021.
