Research Report Nuggets | CICC: Macau's total gaming revenue in March is estimated to be between 18.6 billion yuan and MOP 20.2 billion, reaffirming the “outperforming industry” ratings of MGM China and Sands China

Glonghui, March 6 | CICC released a report saying that Macau's total gaming revenue in February was MOP 18.5 billion, up nearly 80% year-on-year and falling more than 4% month-on-month, falling below Bloomberg's agreed forecast of 91.95% year-on-year growth. The bank believes that Macau's poor gambling recovery performance is mainly due to demand falling short of expectations after the Spring Festival; the same period in 2019 was related to VIP intermediaries hosting Spring Dinner to boost the gaming revenue base. However, it also indicated that the recovery of gambling revenue in Macau improved slightly due to strong demand during the Spring Festival holiday period. CICC also predicted that Macau's total gaming revenue in March would be between MOP 18.6 billion and MOP 20.2 billion, while the average daily gaming revenue would be between 600 million yuan and MOP 650 million, and reiterated the “outperforming industry” ratings for MGM China, Sands China, Wynn Macau, Galaxy Entertainment and Macau.
