Glonghui, March 1 | According to data released by the Macau Statistics and Census Service today, the number of hotel guests in Macau increased 55.7% year-on-year to 1.32 million in January 2024, up 7.4% from the same period in 2019. Among them, the number of visitors from the mainland reached 1.040 million, an increase of 50.5%; the number of Hong Kong guests was 140,000, an increase of 28.3%; the number of Taiwanese guests was 32,000, an increase of 3.1 times; and the number of visitors from South Korea surged 17.6 times. The number of local guests dropped by 6.2% to 46,000. The average length of stay decreased by 0.1 nights compared to the same period last year to 1.6 nights, but increased by 0.2 nights compared to the same period in 2019. Furthermore, the number of visitors arriving with the group in January was 145,000.
