Futu News reported on March 1 that the three major indices opened low and moved higher. As of midday trading, the Hang Seng Index rose 0.75%, the Science Index rose 1.57%, and the National Index rose 1.15%.

By the midday close, Hong Kong stocks had risen 909, down 776, and closed at 1301.

On the sector side, TechNet stocks generally rose, Meituan rose more than 8%, Bilibili rose nearly 3%, JD and Baidu rose more than 1%, Xiaomi and Kuaishou rose slightly, and NetEase fell more than 1%.

Auto stocks rose sharply. Xiaopeng Motors rose more than 8%, NIO rose more than 6%, BYD shares and Geely Auto rose more than 1%, and Zero Sports Motors rose nearly 1%.

Pharmaceutical stocks had mixed ups and downs. Laikai Pharmaceuticals rose more than 30%, Pharmaceuticals Kangde and Kangfang Biotech rose about 2%, BeiGene Shenzhou fell nearly 7%, and Kingsley Biotech fell more than 3%.

Gaming stocks strengthened collectively, with Sands China Co., Ltd. rising more than 3%, and Galaxy Entertainment and MGM China rising more than 1%.

Gold stocks rose one after another. China Gold International rose more than 4%, Zhaojin Mining rose more than 3%, and Zijin Mining rose more than 1%.

Apple concept stocks are popular, with BYD Electronics, Ruisheng Technology, and Gaowei Electronics up more than 4%.

On the other hand, semiconductor stocks continued yesterday's gains, with coal stocks, movie concept stocks, and building materials and cement stocks mostly rising; heavy machinery stocks fell significantly, with leading Sinotruk plummeting nearly 7%.
