Gelonghui, Feb. 28, 丨 China Carbon Neutrality (01372.HK) announced that for the 12 months ended December 31, 2023, the Group recorded comprehensive revenue of about HK$630 million, a year-on-year decrease of about 10.8%, mainly due to a decrease in sales revenue from carbon credit assets during the period. The Group recorded a loss attributable to company owners of approximately HK$8.8 million (2022: approximately HK$197 million), a decrease of 95.6% compared with that. Loss per share was HK2.1 cents. This is mainly due to the following reasons: (i) a reduction in losses due to early one-time repayment of some acceptance notes, (ii) a reduction in financial expenses, (iii) a reduction in administrative and sales expenses, and (iv) an increase in fair value returns on carbon credit assets.

With the successive implementation of low-carbon transformation programs in key industries, vigorously promoting green and low-carbon development is a key task in achieving a comprehensive shift in the economy and society from a traditional growth model to a green sustainable development model. In line with the country's commitment to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, the Hong Kong Government will strive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and establish an interdepartmental “Climate Change and Carbon Neutrality Steering Committee” to formulate an overall strategy and monitor the progress of work.

The Group accurately captures development opportunities on the basis of continuing to consolidate its brand advantages and steady operation capabilities, continues to develop carbon neutrality businesses centered on carbon credit asset development, management and investment, carbon consulting and carbon verification, as well as industrial carbon negative and natural carbon negative, and expand its emerging carbon neutrality business segments.
