According to Zhitong Finance App, Peking University Blue Bird Huanyu (08095) announced that on December 28, 2023, the subscriber Peking University Blue Bird Huanyu Technology (Cayman) Development Co., Ltd. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company) signed a subscription agreement with the fund. The subscribers agreed to subscribe for SP5-A shares with a total subscription amount of HK$40 million.

According to reports, the fund is a Huarong International Special Investment Fund SPC. Fund V SP is the fund's closed independent investment portfolio. The investment goal of the independent portfolio is to purchase any non-performing assets and earn returns from any bank or financial institution in Hong Kong, China. HK$10,000 per participating share (net of bank charges). Subscribers are not required to pay subscription fees. The independent portfolio is intended for a period of one year from the date of first delivery, but the independent portfolio or investment manager may decide whether to extend it for another year at the sole discretion of the independent portfolio or investment manager.

Since the independent portfolio was newly established in the fourth quarter of 2023 and has not yet carried out business, financial information and past performance have not been provided in this announcement.

According to the announcement, considering that (i) the investment focus of the independent portfolio is the non-performing assets of banks and financial institutions in Hong Kong, China; (ii) the board of directors is confident in the quality of non-performing financial assets in the Hong Kong market; and (iii) the Group's portfolio does not have this type of financial asset, the board of directors believes that the subscription matter provides the Group with a good opportunity to balance and diversify its investment portfolio and seize potential future capital appreciation, thereby expanding the Group's investment holding business.
