Tesla announced that it has officially launched a new large-scale factory project with an annual output of 10,000 Megapack fixed battery banks in Shanghai. A land acquisition and signing ceremony for the project was recently held in Shanghai, marking the official launch of what the company called a “landmark project.”

Megapack is a commercial energy storage battery launched by Tesla in July 2019. Its shape and size are similar to container containers. It can store energy and supply energy, and mainly serves utility projects and large enterprise customers. Debon Securities pointed out that China's energy storage industry chain has advantages in manufacturing, cost, and market. Tesla is building an energy storage plant in Shanghai, China. On the one hand, it focuses on China's large-scale manufacturing and rapid response advantages, which can quickly make up for Megapack's production capacity shortfalls; on the other hand, using the advantages of China's complete and low-cost energy storage system industry chain can reduce Megapack costs. Tesla's energy storage business layout in China is expected to drive the development of related industrial chains to flourish.

Shiyun Circuit was the first domestic enterprise to enter Tesla's PCB supplier system. The company has circuit boards related to energy storage for important customers in the field of new energy, and related products have been supplied in small batches in 2022.

Hyde Control said that the company's energy storage business covers the integration of energy storage products and systems other than batteries. In the future, the company will not rule out establishing strategic partnerships with battery manufacturers, including Tesla's energy storage gigafactory.
