Gelonghui November 28 | Oriental Payment Group Holdings (08613.HK) announced that on November 24, 2023, the company learned that Tong Dazhao's law firm (the “Petitioner”) submitted a petition to the Court of First Instance of the High Court of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on November 23, 2023 to liquidate the company in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 32 of the Laws of Hong Kong (Liquidation and Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations (“Companies (Winding Up and Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance”). The petition concerned an alleged outstanding amount of HK$1,055,250 due and payable by the company under nine invoices issued by the petitioner between October 2021 and October 2022. The debt relates to legal services provided by the petitioner to the company pursuant to an annual employment agreement between the petitioner and the company dated December 3, 2019. The petition is scheduled to be heard in court on January 31, 2024 (Wednesday) at 10 a.m.
The company is requesting further details about the debt from the petitioner and negotiating with the petitioner to reach a settlement. Currently, the company is seeking the opinions of its legal advisers to determine follow-up measures and possible actions relating to the petition, including but not limited to applying to the court for an approval order.
