Background of joint development

Our ReFF project aims to recycle used paper pants in 2015^※It has started. We succeeded in producing hygienic and safe “regenerated pulp” of the same quality as unused pulp using sterilization technology using ozone. Also, in 2022, adult paper pants “Lifely,” which uses “recycled pulp” as part of absorbent paper, will be manufactured, and test use will begin at nursing homes, mainly in the South Kyushu area. We have received evaluations from nursing homes that have used it for “quality that is no different from normal products” and “it is easy to participate in solving environmental problems.”

Therefore, in order to expand the supply volume of horizontally recycled products using “recycled pulp,” we have developed processing technology for paper pants in collaboration with Havix, and we have decided to begin commercial use from 2024/1.

※ReFF is a neologism that takes the acronym “Recycle for the Future.”

We aim to realize “consumer goods that are not consumed,” which is essential for realizing a sustainable future, and we are working to recycle used paper pants as part of this.

Contributing to the “SDGs 17 Targets” through joint development of materials using “recycled pulp”

Of the 17 goals set out in the “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs: Sustainable Development Goals) adopted by the United Nations in 2015, we believe this initiative will contribute to the following.
