According to the Zhitong Finance App, Oriental Huicai Securities (08001) issued an announcement. It is expected that the Group will obtain a profit of about HK$1.8 million attributable to the company's equity owners in the six months ending September 30, 2023, while the profit attributable to the company's equity owners for the six months ending September 30, 2022 was about HK$6.8 million, which is equivalent to a decrease of about 74%.

According to the announcement, the reduction in profit attributable to equity owners of the company mentioned above is mainly due to a decrease in interest income from the lending business. The reason is that the calculation method of interest income was changed from total book value to net book value (that is, after deduction of credit provisions) in accordance with applicable financial reporting standards; and confirmation of expenses of HK$2 million already paid to debt collection companies for debt collection.
