大阪ガス株式会社（社長：藤原正隆、本社：大阪市中央区、以下「大阪ガス」）の100%子会社であるDaigasエナジー株式会社（社長：井上雅之、本社：大阪市中央区、以下「Daigasエナジー」）は、東洋紡株式会社（社長：竹内郁夫、本社：大阪市北区、以下「東洋紡」）の岩国事業所（山口県岩国市）において、本日、石炭火力発電所から天然ガスおよびRPF^＊1を燃料とする火力発電所に更新する工事の竣工式が執り行われましたので、お知らせいたします。

本件は、経済産業省の「令和2年度　省エネルギー投資促進に向けた支援補助金（エネルギー使用合理化等事業者支援事業）」^＊2に採択され、東洋紡とDaigasエナジーが共同で実施しました。
岩国事業所の石炭火力発電所（1972年竣工、10,480kW）を更新し、天然ガスとRPFを燃料とし、省エネ、低炭素化に資する高効率発電システムをエネルギーサービス契約^＊3により新設し、電気と熱を供給します。新設した発電所により、脱石炭の実現と本システムから発生する高温排ガス、LNGの冷熱を有効利用する省エネ制御を行うことで、年間約8.0万トンのCO₂排出量を削減し、環境負荷の低減に貢献します。

Daigasグループは、2021年1月に「Daigasグループカーボンニュートラルビジョン」を発表し、これまでの天然ガス利用拡大の取り組みに加えて、メタネーション^＊4などによる都市ガス原料の脱炭素化、再生可能エネルギー導入を軸とした電源の脱炭素化によって、「2050年のカーボンニュートラル実現」を目指しています。
2023年3月には「Daigasグループエネルギートランジション2030」を発表し、エネルギーの低・脱炭素化への移行に向けた道筋の全体像と、2030年に向けた当社グループの具体的な取り組みやお客さまにご提供できるソリューションをお示ししています。
今後もグループ全体でカーボンニュートラル実現に向けた技術・サービス開発を行い、お客さまとともに地球規模での環境貢献に寄与する取り組みを推進し、暮らしとビジネスの“さらなる進化”のお役に立つ企業グループを目指してまいります。

(*1)：	Refuse derived Paper & Plastic densified Fuelの略。古紙および廃プラスチック類を主原料とした固形燃料。
(*2)：	事業者が計画したエネルギー使用合理化の取組のうち、省エネルギー性能の高い設備の導入に要する経費の一部を補助する事業。
(*3)：	エネルギー設備をお客さまにご購入いただくのではなく、Daigasエナジーがお客さまの敷地内に設備を持ち込み、お客さまのイニシャルレスを実現することができる契約。本件では、三井住友ファイナンス＆リース株式会社が設備を保有し、Daigasエナジーがリースを受けた上でお客さまにエネルギー加工サービスを実施。
(*4)：	水素とCO₂から都市ガス原料の主成分であるメタンを合成する技術。
