The WonderLust press conference teaser logo may suggest the new color of the iPhone 15, and that Apple may release a new Apple Watch. Guo Mingyi said that the periscope is the biggest selling point of the iPhone 15 series, and the market's expectations for iPhone 15 shipments in the second half of the year are too conservative.

According to Apple's official press conference schedule, the iPhone 15 will be officially unveiled in two weeks.

On Tuesday, August 29, EST, Apple invited the media to begin hosting a live broadcast of the Wonderlust-themed press conference at the company headquarters in Cupertino, California at 1 p.m. EST on September 12, 1 a.m. Beijing time on the 13th.

As before, Apple's invitation doesn't reveal what new products will be released. However, according to convention, the fall press conference in September every year is the stage for the debut of the main product, the iPhone.

Some media believe that the Apple logo is designed as a silver, gold, and blue gradient sand dune in the Apple invitation teaser image, which may suggest that the iPhone 15 series will have similar color options.

Earlier, there were many rumors that in addition to the common green, yellow, pink, and classic red, the iPhone 15 will also have two new colors, “Midnight” and “Starlight.” Therefore, the dune color in the invitation logo is probably the embodiment of the so-called “midnight” and “starlight” color versions.

On the hardware side, Apple may also launch a new smartwatch, the Apple Watch, at the September press conference, including an updated version of the high-end watch Apple Watch Ultra. Furthermore, it may also once again present the mixed reality headset Vision Pro before it is officially sold early next year.

In terms of software, apart from iOS 17, Apple is expected to release new versions of macOS and watchOS.

Apple's revenue for the second quarter experienced “three consecutive declines” for the first time since 2016. On the performance conference call, it was also indicated that the results for the third quarter would be similar to the second quarter. Apple urgently needs a new hot model to prove itself, so investors can pay for the high valuation, and high hopes are placed on the upcoming iPhone 15.

According to some previous news, one of the major hardware changes of the iPhone 15 is to replace Apple's proprietary interface with a USB-C interface, but it is still not compatible with Android devices. In terms of software, the iPhone 15 will be equipped with iOS 17, which was also released by Apple.

Guo Mingyi, an analyst at Tianfeng International Securities, known as the “Most Accurate Apple Analyst” and Apple's “Emperor of Prophecy,” revealed a few months ago that the iPhone will use a periscope lens system for the first time to achieve an optical zoom of 5 times or 6, far exceeding the current size of 3 times. It is the biggest camera upgrade in the iPhone 15 series, but it is limited to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Guo Mingyi also recently posted that the periscope is the biggest selling point of the iPhone 15 series. It is expected that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will account for about 35% to 40% of iPhone 15 series orders. It is the iPhone 15 model that accounts for the highest proportion. Shipments of this model in the second half of the year will increase by 10% to 20% compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max over the same period.

Recently, the market is worried that due to supply issues, iPhone 15 shipments will drop, and shipments of the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be delayed. Meanwhile, Guo Mingyi pointed out that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will begin batch shipping this week, and Apple is also increasing shipments of older models at the same time. He expects iPhone 15 shipments to be 80 million units, while the market's conservative forecast is 70 million to 80 million units.

Guo Mingyi believes that since the market's expectations for iPhone or iPhone 15 shipments in the second half of the year are too conservative, and the release of new products in September, Apple's stock price may soon usher in an opportunity for a rebound.

He also said that Samsung's smartphone shipments have dropped to 220 million units this year. If Apple maintains iPhone orders for the second half of the year, this year's shipments are expected to reach 220 million to 225 million units, surpassing Samsung as the number one smartphone brand, and being promoted to the top ranking will have a long-term positive impact on Apple's ecology.
