List of important global data and events

Next week, the Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank and the RBA will all release the minutes of their last monetary policy meeting. At its last meeting, the Fed raised its description of economic activity and downgraded its judgment on the current state of inflation, and little upward inflationary pressure has become a "new" reason for the Fed to wait and see to raise interest rates this year.

In terms of corporate earnings, after sending away the BAT last week, the market will receive financial reports from XIAOMI, Meituan, Pinduoduo and Weibo Corp, and the results of a number of US stock retailers will also be unveiled next week, including Penny's, Target Corp, Best Buy and so on.

5.20 Monday

On Monday, XIAOMI Group and Pinduoduo hit heavily.

XIAOMI's financial report can focus on its key IoT business. On May 18th, XIAOMI Group announced a new organizational structure adjustment and personnel appointment: Lei Jun is also president of China and set up a large household appliance division. It can be seen that the core logic of XIAOMI's adjustment is to implement the All in AIoT strategy, comprehensively develop large household appliance business, and increase the Chinese market at the same time.

On Tuesday, OECD released its latest data outlook, which was last November when OECD cut its global economic growth forecast to 3.5 per cent in 2019, up from 3.7 per cent previously.

Wednesday, May 22

Major Chinese companies Vipshop Holdings Limited, TRIP COM GRP LTD and Huazhu Hotel will announce their results on Wednesday.

5.23 Thursday

An important financial event of the day is that the Federal Reserve will release the minutes of its monetary policy meeting from April 30 to May 1. At this FOMC meeting, the federal funds rate was kept unchanged at 2.25% and 2.50%, and the interest rate on excess reserves was lowered by 5 basis points to 2.35%, basically in line with market expectations.

The results of Meituan, Weibo Corp and Sina will be unveiled on Thursday.

Friday, May 24

On the heels of rival MSCI, A shares will be included in the FTSE Russell Index, and the first step of the first phase will be announced next Friday, effective June 24.
