We investigated the sports culture in Beijing (1803.HK/ HK $2.35, unrated) and discussed the current situation of the sports industry and companies in China. The main contents are as follows: 1) the 2022 Winter Olympic Games will be held in Beijing, and China's goal is to reach 300 million people on ice by 2020; considering that China's winter sports participation still lags far behind that of developed countries, therefore, China's winter sports industry has ushered in a golden period of development; 3) compared with traditional stadiums, air film stadiums have higher space utilization, lower construction and operating costs, shorter construction period and more environmental protection. 4) the company has more than 40% of the market share of air film stadiums in China, and aims to build 1000 air film stadiums within 5 years; 5) the company will upgrade its business model in the future through the acquisition of Shenzhen Haizhou to enter the ice and snow park operation business.
With the support of policy, the industry has a bright future.
By comparison, the number of fitness venues in China is only 1 / 27 of that in the United States.
The 13th five-year Plan of the sports industry proposes that by 2020, the per capita area of sports venues will reach 1.8square meters (1.4square meters in 2016), and the total scale of the national sports industry will reach 3 trillion yuan (1.5 trillion yuan in 2016).
According to document No. 46 on accelerating the Development of Sports Industry and promoting Sports consumption, by 2025, the per capita area of sports venues will reach 2 square meters, implying an increase of 700 million square meters. By 2025, the total value of the sports industry will reach 5 trillion yuan.
According to the overall deployment of "Ice and Snow Sports Plan 2016-2025" and "National Ice and Snow Field facilities Planning 2016-2022", by 2020, the number of ice and snow sports venues will reach 1450, and the total value of the ice and snow sports industry will reach 1 billion yuan; by 2025, the number of ice and snow sports schools will reach 5000.
