UBS published a report predicting that Oriental Overseas (00316-HK) will turn a loss into a profit this year. This is related to increased freight rates and effective cost control. The bank lowered its target price of Eastern Overseas to 52 yuan. It also pointed out that shipping demand within Asia was under pressure compared to Eurasian routes, and at the same time, the increase in Pacific freight fell short of Eastern Overseas's expectations. However, six new ships will arrive from Dongfang Overseas this year, which can improve economies of scale.
