Taiwan Affairs Office: Supporting the listing of Taiwan-funded enterprises in mainland China

富途资讯 ·  Apr 10, 2019 10:45

We have always supported the listing of Taiwanese enterprises in mainland China. We hope that Taiwanese enterprises will better share development opportunities in mainland China through listing on mainland China. There are no policy barriers for Taiwanese companies to be listed on the Science and Technology Innovation Board, and they enjoy the same treatment as mainland companies.

- Taiwan Affairs Office Spokesman Ma Xiaoguang

The Science and Technology Innovation Board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange was officially launched recently. Among the first nine companies accepted for listing on the Science and Technology Innovation Board, there is a Taiwan-funded enterprise. It is not ruled out that more Taiwanese high-tech companies will be listed on the Science and Technology Innovation Board in the future.

In response, Taiwan Affairs Office spokesman Ma Xiaoguang explained that there is no reason for compatriots on both sides of the Strait not to integrate development, develop hand in hand, and share development. Strengthening cross-strait economic cooperation for mutual benefit conforms to the common interests of compatriots on both sides of the Strait.

Up to now, more than 30 Taiwanese companies have been listed on mainland A-shares for financing. Since 2016, a total of 10 Taiwan-funded enterprises have been listed on A-shares in mainland China, raising capital of about 35 billion yuan. The listing of these Taiwan-funded enterprises in mainland China not only incorporates the capital required for the company's development and growth, but also has an obvious brand image bonus effect. More and more Taiwanese companies have chosen to go public in mainland China.
