According to the Zhitong Finance App, Asia Backup (08290) released its annual results for the year ending December 31, 2022. The group achieved revenue of HK$44.882 million during the period, a decrease of 6.25% over the previous year; loss attributable to shareholders of HK$1,964 million, a year-on-year decrease of 87.47%; and a basic loss of 0.1 HK cents per share.

The announcement said that although the group has adjusted its pricing strategy, the earnings of the online backup software division have been unstable in the last two years, and the types of customers have also changed due to a decrease in batch purchases. In response to weak demand from the global economy, the ninth edition of AhsayTM backup software was launched in early 2022 to cope with market changes and maintain the Group's competitiveness. The Group will also continue to take mitigation measures and control operating costs to maintain a healthy financial position. As a result of prudent cost control measures taken during the year, losses attributable to owners of parent companies for the year ended December 31, 2022 were reduced by more than 85% compared to last year.
