(Active Nengdong, March 16, 2023) Case New Holland Industries Group acquired a majority stake in Bennamann to further expand its strength in the field of alternative energy. The UK-based company specializes in the capture, reuse, and storage of escaped methane emissions for energy. Combined with equipment from Case New Holland Industries Group, Bennamann's infrastructure can provide a carbon-negative system that fully supports a circular economy in agriculture. This move strengthenedCase New Dutch Industries GroupLeadership and product portfolio in agricultural alternative energy.

Reducing methane and carbon dioxide emissions from biological waste and equipment operations is the biggest environmental issue facing agricultureOne. To help farmers meet this challenge, Case New Holland Industries has been pioneering sustainable alternative energy solutions for agriculture for more than two decades, including the New Holland T6.180 methane-powered tractor, the world's first tractor to use compressed natural gas. Alternative energy and electrification can make farmers' operations more flexible, more efficient, and even more profitable, while drastically reducing the carbon footprint.

Case New Dutch Industries GroupA cooperative relationship was established with Bennamann as early as 2019, and the partnership wasCase New Dutch Industries GroupThe tractor prototype developed a liquefied natural gas fuel tank. In 2021,Case New Dutch Industries GroupThe investment division bought a minority stake in the company. At a pilot farm in the UK,Case New Dutch Industries GroupShared technology is capturing escaped emissions from biological waste -- particularly livestock faecal mud -- and purifying them into biomethane, which is then compressed or liquefied. Both forms of methane can be used as fuel for equipment, generate electricity, and even power homes or farms, and the by-products of the conversion process can also be used as natural fertilizer. All in all, the system allows farms to become energy independent, reduce input costs, and potentially generate additional income. This work also contributed to the launch of the New Holland T7 LNG tractor, the world's first tractor prototype powered by liquid escape methane. When powered by the Bennamann system, it had negative carbon emissions during operation.

This latest strategic investment has reduced agricultural carbon dioxide emissions, further consolidatingCase\ New Holland Industrial GroupA commitment to a “science-based goal” program.Case New Dutch Industries GroupResearch shows that a farm with 120 cows, such as usingthereofShared methane capture technology can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 780 tons per year, which is equivalent to the annual emissions of 100 Western European households.

Case New Holland Industries Group and BennamannWorking together, the prototype development phase has now been completed, and the Case New Netherlands-Bennamann solution will be implemented on multiple farms next year. The compressed escape methane solution will be launched first, and the transition to a liquefaction solution will be carried out in the future.
