Sector changes | Potential PV demand is expected to drive up the opening of PV concept stocks

Zhitong Finance ·  Feb 7, 2023 09:50

The Zhitong Finance App learned that on February 7, due to news that potential demand for photovoltaics is expected to increase, A-share photovoltaic concept stocks opened up. As of press release, Tuori New Energy (002218.SZ) and Jicheng Electronics (002339.SZ) have risen and stopped, while Delong Laser (688170.SH), Olympic Union Electronics (300585.SZ), Jingshan Light Machinery (000821.SZ), Zhonglai (300393.SZ), Tianzhun Technology (688003.SH) and other stocks have risen.

According to statistics, among A-share listed companies, nearly 90 photovoltaic-related companies have issued performance forecasts for 2022, of which more than 70% have predicted increases and losses have been reversed. Four leading companies in the industry chain, including Longji Green Energy, Tongwei Co., Ltd., Daquan Energy, and TBEA, expect net profit to exceed 10 billion yuan, while 28 companies, including Jingao Technology and Jinlang Technology, are expected to increase their net profit by more than 100%. With optimistic expectations of future market demand, leading companies have once again set off a boom in expanding production, impacting the competitive pattern of the industry.

Statistics released by the National Energy Administration show that in 2022, the country added about 87 GW of new solar energy installations, a sharp increase of 58.53% over 2021, a record high. According to the forecast of Jibang Consulting, the global PV installed capacity will be between 330 GW and 360 GW in 2023.

Zhongtai Securities believes that as the supply of polysilicon increases month by month, industrial chain prices have returned to the lower cost channel. Considering the investment characteristics of photovoltaic projects, as prices in the industrial chain are adjusted, the yield of photovoltaic projects will increase. From a dynamic perspective, after electricity costs enter a downward channel, potential demand for photovoltaics is expected to gain strength, and demand for photovoltaics is expected to continue to grow.
