It is understood that there are many technical routes of photovoltaic cells, and there are three mainstream ones at present, namely, crystalline silicon cells, thin film cells, and perovskite cells. From the perspective of market share, although crystalline silicon cells are the first generation of photovoltaic cells, they still account for the vast majority, while perovskite batteries have not been turned on large-scale commercial use.

At present, with the technology of crystalline silicon solar cells becoming more and more mature, the bottleneck of photoelectric conversion efficiency has become increasingly prominent. Based on this, many enterprises in the industry have turned their attention to the more potential solar cell technology. As the next generation solar cell technology with great market prospectPerovskite batteries have ushered in the first year of commercial development.Since 2022, the industrialization process of perovskite battery has been accelerated obviously, and many enterprises have begun trial production. A new round of technological changes in the photovoltaic industry may be set off in the next few years.

Relevant data show that the theoretical photoelectric conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells is as high as 33%, which is significantly higher than that of traditional crystalline silicon solar cells, and with the addition of lamination technology, its photoelectric conversion efficiency is expected to exceed 45%.

According to the data of Xiexin Optoelectronics, a leading perovskite enterprise, the cost of perovskite components in the 100MW test line is about 1 yuan / W, which is obviously superior to the cost of 15-2 yuan / W of the mainstream crystal silicon components in the market. And, with the substantial increase in production capacity in the future, the cost of perovskite components is expected to be further reduced to 0.5 yuan / W, or even lower.

With the remarkable characteristics of high efficiency, low cost and low energy consumption, perovskite cells are becoming more and more popular in the great transformation of photovoltaic cost reduction and efficiency.China International Capital Corporation predicts that the pilot production scale of the perovskite solar cell industry may reach 1000-1200MW within 2023, nearly tripling the 350MW growth compared with 2022.

Changjiang Securities pointed out that at present, perovskite is still in the early stage of industrialization, and in terms of quantity, the current scale of production expansion is relatively small, but equipment manufacturers cooperate with perovskite manufacturers in research and development and verification in advance, which will fully benefit from subsequent perovskite battery production expansion and release of equipment demand. It is suggested that we should continue to pay attention to the perovskite industrialization track, focusing on: 1) the horizontal expansion in the perovskite field of enterprises with deep technology accumulation in crystalline silicon batteries; 2) some perovskite battery equipment and electronics, display panels and other industry-related material process equipment have a certain degree of commonality, pay attention to the cross-industry equipment enterprises in the perovskite field; 3) the new layout of perovskite battery & module production enterprises.

China Merchants believes that industrialization is in the 0-1 stage. After more than ten years of development, the laboratory efficiency of perovskite battery has improved rapidly, which provides a solid theoretical support for industrialization.It is expected that the scale of perovskite industry is expected to reach GW level in 2023, and by 2024-2025, a number of enterprises are expected to land GW production lines one after another.The industrialization of laminated batteries has also been accelerated in recent years. Crystal silicon-perovskite laminated battery can further improve the efficiency of mature crystalline silicon battery and is expected to become one of the main paths of perovskite industrialization in the future. At the same time, perovskite lamination is regarded as the ultimate lamination technology (the highest theoretical efficiency), and it may be gradually applied with the breakthrough of perovskite core bottleneck in the future.

China Merchants suggests that we should focus on the perovskite investment and layout companies: Xiexin Technology (Hong Kong stock), Longji Green Energy, Jingao Technology, JinkoSolar Holding Co Ltd, Trina Solar, Tonghe, Oriental Sunrise, Aixu, Zhonglai, Hangxiao Steel structure; TCO Glass: Jinjing Technology; POE Packaging Materials: Foster, Smart Technology, Saiwu Technology, Haiyou New material, etc. Perovskite equipment: Jiejia Weichuang, Maiwei shares, Dier Laser, Olympian Electronics, Guao Technology, Orede and so on.
