Yeok Kian Tea Is The Executive Chairman of Accrelist Ltd. (Catalist:QZG) And They Just Picked Up 1.6% More Shares

Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the Accrelist Ltd. (Catalist:QZG) Executive Chairman, Yeok Kian Tea, recently bought S$53k worth of stock, for S$0.049 per share. However, it only increased their shares held by 1.6%, and it wasn't a huge purchase by absolute value, either.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Accrelist

Notably, that recent purchase by Yeok Kian Tea is the biggest insider purchase of Accrelist shares that we've seen in the last year. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at above the current price of S$0.044. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. It is generally more encouraging if they paid above the current price, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels.

While Accrelist insiders bought shares during the last year, they didn't sell. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. If you want to know exactly who sold, for how much, and when, simply click on the graph below!

There are always plenty of stocks that insiders are buying. So if that suits your style you could check each stock one by one or you could take a look at this free list of companies. (Hint: insiders have been buying them).

Insider Ownership Of Accrelist

Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. Accrelist insiders own 41% of the company, currently worth about S$5.4m based on the recent share price. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.

So What Do The Accrelist Insider Transactions Indicate?

It is good to see the recent insider purchase. We also take confidence from the longer term picture of insider transactions. But we don't feel the same about the fact the company is making losses. When combined with notable insider ownership, these factors suggest Accrelist insiders are well aligned, and quite possibly think the share price is too low. That's what I like to see! While we like knowing what's going on with the insider's ownership and transactions, we make sure to also consider what risks are facing a stock before making any investment decision. Case in point: We've spotted 2 warning signs for Accrelist you should be aware of, and 1 of them is concerning.

But note: Accrelist may not be the best stock to buy. So take a peek at this free list of interesting companies with high ROE and low debt.

For the purposes of this article, insiders are those individuals who report their transactions to the relevant regulatory body. We currently account for open market transactions and private dispositions, but not derivative transactions.
