Li Yanhong, chairman of Baidu, responded to Baidu's theory that Baidu is falling behind: “Some opportunities belong to us; some opportunities don't belong to us; it's impossible for every opportunity to belong to Baidu.”

Li Yanhong explained that Baidu focuses on technological innovation, which it is good at. Since 89 years ago, Baidu began large-scale investment in research and development of artificial intelligence technology. In recent years, R&D investment has accounted for about 15% of total revenue, which is probably the highest share of R&D among mainstream domestic companies.
