[TechWeb] On December 10, Ericsson recently officially announced the signing of a multi-year global patent licensing agreement with Apple, ending all ongoing patent-related legal disputes between the two companies.
Ericsson said in the announcement that the agreement includes cross-licensing relating to the technology necessary for patented cellular standards and grants certain others Patents. Additionally, Ericsson and Apple have agreed to strengthen technical and business cooperation, including cooperation in technology, interoperability, and standards development.
Ericsson estimates that intellectual property licensing revenue for the fourth quarter of 2022 will be SEK 5.5 billion to 6 billion (approximately RMB 3.7 billion to 4 billion).
