08:13 AM EST, 12/06/2022 (MT Newswires) -- TSMC (TSM) said Tuesday it will invest about $40 billion in two fabrication plants in Arizona, marking the largest foreign direct investment in the state.
In addition to the first fab that is scheduled to begin producing N4 process chips in 2024, the company said it has started construction of a second fab scheduled to begin making 3nm process chips in 2026.
The two fabs are expected to make over 600,000 wafers annually, TSMC said.
