Zhitong Financial APP learned that Hong Kong-China Smart Energy (01083) rose more than 6 per cent in intraday trading and more than 35 per cent since the beginning of November. As of press time, it rose 4.57% to HK $3.66, with a turnover of HK $13.579 million.

On the face of the news, Hong Kong China Smart Energy recently announced that its direct wholly-owned subsidiary, Hong Kong China Gas (financing) Co., Ltd., has applied to the Bank of China Ltd. Inter-Market Dealers Association for a debt financing instrument with a total registered amount of not more than 15 billion yuan and will be issued in multiple batches in due course. The proposed issuance will be carried out within a period of two years from the receipt of the notice of registration from the association.

The Company has provided an unconditional and irrevocable guarantee in favour of the holders of Panda Bonds for all amounts due and payable under the Panda Bonds of the issuer during the period of registration. Whether and when the application can be registered, and whether and when the registration can be completed are still uncertain.
