Amazon.Com Inc is likely to resolve an antitrust investigation launched by European regulators by the end of the year, according to people familiar with the matter, according to the APP of Zhitong Finance.

The European Commission is "likely to accept Amazon.Com Inc's binding proposal by the end of the year", according to people familiar with the matter. These recommendations are said to include the termination of certain problematic practices such as the use of data from independent sellers. In addition, the settlement agreement should also include some provisions, such as requiring Amazon.Com Inc to "treat all sellers equally when ranking all sellers in order to select the winner of the competition."

It is understood that in June this year, the e-commerce giant tried to reassure EU regulators by agreeing to share its market data with sellers and improve the way competitors' products are displayed on its website. In July, the tech giant offered another settlement.

A spokesman for Amazon.Com Inc declined to comment on a possible settlement but said the company would continue to interact with the European Commission to avoid violating regulations.
