This shows that it has withstood the impact of a wide-ranging slowdown in electronics demand.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd said this week that in addition to the $12 billion chip plant already under construction in Arizona, it also plans to build another plant in that state. While other chipmakers have warned in recent months that data centres and consumer technology customers are cutting orders as inventories build up, they are facing a more difficult market.
