Visa released financial results for the second quarter (ending March 31, 2018) after the market on April 25.

According to financial reports, Visa's revenue increased 13% year over year to 5.1 billion US dollars, adjusted net profit increased 26% year over year to 2.6 billion US dollars, and adjusted earnings per share increased 30% year over year to 1.11 US dollars. Visa said that the second-quarter results exceeded previous expectations. Compared with the first quarter, cross-border transactions and other businesses saw a rapid rise, so it will raise revenue and profit expectations for the current fiscal year. It is expected that the adjusted profit growth for the whole year will be as high as 20%.

Among them, the payment transaction business increased 11% compared to the previous year, and the cross-border transaction business increased 13% over the previous quarter; the revenue of the payment processing business in the past three quarters was 29.3 billion US dollars, an increase of 12% over last year.

Additionally, on March 7, 2018, Visa acquired Fraedom to expand its B2B payments business; during this accounting period, it obtained 169 million A-grade common shares of the company, worth approximately $120.39 per share.
