According to data from the Macao Special Administrative region Statistics and Census Bureau, in June this year, a total of 121 hotels and resorts provided accommodation services to the public, an annual increase of 6, and the number of rooms available increased by 5.5% to 3.7 million. In June, the average occupancy rate of rooms decreased by 6.3 percentage points to 39.1% year-on-year, while that of five-star hotels decreased by 12.2 percentage points year-on-year to 31.9%.
In June, the number of hotel lodgers decreased by 103% to 421,000, inland residents (315,000) fell by 11.9%, and Macau's local residents (78,000) also decreased by 5.6%. The average length of stay of residents increased by 0.1 nights to 1.8 nights per year.
In the first half of 2022, the average occupancy rate of hotel rooms decreased by 12.8% to 37.6%, the number of guests decreased by 22.3% to 262.4, 000, and the average length of stay was maintained at 1.8 nights.
