The General Office of the Bancassurance Regulatory Commission recently issued a notice to all bancassurance supervision bureaus, large banks, joint-stock banks, foreign banks, direct selling banks, wealth management companies, insurance groups (holding) companies and insurance companies on carrying out special rectification work for banking and insurance institutions infringing upon the rights and interests of personal information. The Circular points out that it will comprehensively identify the business behavior and management of the organization related to consumers' personal information processing activities since 2021, find out in depth the problems existing in the protection of the organization's personal information, and make a list of problems. The notice requires that for the problems found in rectification, bancassurance institutions should set up files one by one to ensure that rectification and reform are in place and accountability is in place.
