Zhitong Financial APP learned that Standard Chartered PLC (02888) will announce this year's interim results next Friday. Due to the high base in the first half of 2021 and affected by the reversal of provisions (net credit impairment back to $47 million), the company's statutory pre-tax profit forecast for the first half of 2022 is $23.76-2.499 billion, down 2.3% to 7.2% from $2.559 billion in the first half of 2021. The median was $2.418 billion, down 5.5 per cent from a year earlier.

Investors will be watching Standard Chartered PLC's latest operating outlook and share buyback guidelines. Credit Suisse predicted at the end of April that Standard Chartered would announce an additional $250 million share buyback plan when it announced its interim results, and the market was also concerned about credit impairment.
