Zhitong Financial APP learned that Conch Environmental Protection (00587) announced that the company learned from Anhui Anhui Conch Cement Co., Ltd. (00914) that Anhui Conch Cement was considering the possibility of acquiring more shares in the company. As of 09:20, it was up 5.2% to quote HK $5.46, with a turnover of 1.9992 million.

It is reported that the potential acquisition (subject to the approval of relevant government agencies) will be carried out in the open market through Conch International Holdings (Hong Kong) Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anhui Conch Cement, at the prevailing market price, and at such time as it deems appropriate after mainly considering the company's current market price and market conditions at that time.

Immediately upon completion of the potential acquisition (if realized), Anhui Conch Cement, together with its subsidiaries and those acting in concert with Anhui Conch Cement, will hold a total of less than 30 per cent of the voting rights attached to all issued shares of the company, and the company will be regarded as a subsidiary of Anhui Conch Cement, and the financial results of the company will be incorporated into the Anhui Conch Cement consolidated financial statements.
