Zhitong Financial APP learned that$Netflix Inc (NFLX.US) $Agreed to pay a fine of $59 million on Friday to resolve a tax dispute with the Italian government.

Italian prosecutors had previously said that although Netflix Inc had no entity in the country, its use of servers and other technologies in Italy was equivalent to owning an entity in the country and was responsible for paying taxes in Italy. Netflix Inc used digital infrastructure to provide streaming services to 2 million users in Italy from 2015 to 2019.

It is understood that Netflix Inc has set up an office in Italy and recruited more than 40 employees.
