Zhitong Finance APP, Huayi Tencent Entertainment (00419) announced its annual results for the year ended December 31, 2021, with revenue of about HK $333 million, an increase of 230.81% over the same period last year, and a loss of about HK $110 million attributable to the company's owners, an increase of 95.15% over the same period last year, with a basic loss of HK0.82 cents per share.
The announcement said that the sharp increase in income during the year was mainly due to:
(1) the revenue from the Internet health-related businesses developed by the newly acquired ╱ (namely "online Drug prescription, Circulation and Marketing" and "Internet Health Management platform") is about HK $58.644 million (2020: none), accounting for 18% of the total revenue in 2021 (2020: 0%). These businesses are in a phase of rapid growth and management expects a further significant increase in the share of revenue from these Internet health-related businesses in 2022.
(2) the revenue of the "Entertainment and Media" segment surged 10.27 times to about HK $155 million, mainly due to the successful release of a number of films during the year, including the worldwide release of "Victory" and "lost Lamb" through Netflix and AppleTV+ respectively, and the dual-drive screening of "Save the Donut" through cinema and Netflix.
(3) the income of the "Health and Health Care Services" Division was about HK $114 million in 2021, an increase of 17% over last year. During the year, the number of members of the "North Lake 9 Club" remained stable, and the playing-related business and catering business also returned to normal operation after the domestic epidemic was controlled and economic activities resumed.
