Gelong Port (08502.HK) announced that for the 12 months ended December 31, 2021, the company's income was 166 million yuan, an increase of 10.2 percent over the same period last year; the profit attributable to the company's owners was 57.206 million yuan, an increase of 28.3 percent over the same period last year; and earnings per share were 7.15 cents.
The increase in revenue was mainly due to an increase in revenue from cargo handling, due to an increase of about 4.3 million tons in cargo throughput over last year, the announcement said. The increase in cargo throughput was mainly driven by the rebound in market demand after the epidemic in China and the gradual recovery of China's domestic and foreign trade.
In 2021, the Group's bulk cargo and container capacity were 27.4 million tons (2020: 23 million tons) and 12384 TEUs (2020: 17034 TEUs) respectively, an increase of 18.8% and a decrease of 27.3% over the previous year.
