Punctuation Finance and Economics Institute joined hands with the Investment Times to launch the 2018 China Employment season salary Guide, which counted the per capita salary of employees of 3518 listed companies in 28 industries in 2017. Among them, the per capita salary of the automobile industry was 132800 yuan in 2017, ranking 13th among 28 industries, with a year-on-year increase of 14.4%, ranking seventh in terms of growth.

Specifically, there are 167listed companies in China's automobile industry, ranking sixth with 189.446 billion yuan in cash paid to and for employees in 2017. By the end of 2017, the number of employees in the automobile industry totaled 1.4267 million, an increase of 5.28 percent over 2016.

In the automobile industry, only two listed companies have a per capita salary of 542800 yuan for Weichai Power (000338.SZ) and 508000 yuan for 600741.SH. According to the data, Weichai Power paid 22.471 billion yuan in cash to employees and employees in 2017, an increase of 40 percent over 2016, which also increased the average annual salary of the company's employees by more than 30 percent. Weichai Power's annual report shows that the company's operating income reached 151.569 billion yuan in 2017, an increase of 62.66 percent over the same period last year.

Of the 167 listed companies in the auto industry, only 26 have seen their per capita pay fall. 300176.SZ fell 61.96 per cent to 43100 yuan, making it the lowest-paid company. But the company's operating profit rose by 1242.9% in 2017, according to the annual report. In addition, the per capita salary of Hengli Industrial (000622.SZ) fell 40.03%, Shenhua Holdings (600653.SH) fell 35.89%, and Yapu shares (603013.SH) fell 30.8%.

At the same time, the per capita salary of eight listed companies in the automobile industry has increased by more than 50%. The biggest increase was Golden Cup Automobile (600609.SH), which reached 216.87%. The per capita annual salary rose from 47500 yuan to 150600 yuan, successfully counterattacking from the third to the bottom of the industry to the upper and middle level. In addition, there was an increase of more than 100 per cent in 300473.SZ, with an annual per capita salary of 145300 yuan, an increase of 103.37 per cent over the same period last year. The other six companies are ST Jialing (600877.SH), Dongfeng Motor (600006.SH), Tianrun Crankshaft (002283.SZ), Ningbo Huaxiang (002048.SZ), Jingu Co. (002488.SZ) and Xingmin Zhitong (002355.SZ).

Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces and Guangdong Province are the main gathering places of automobile enterprises. There are 29 listed automobile companies in Jiangsu Province, 37 in Zhejiang, 13 in Shanghai and 12 in Guangdong. However, the per capita annual salary of employees of automobile companies in three provinces is lower than the industry average, that is, 96200 yuan per capita in Jiangsu Province, 97300 yuan in Zhejiang Province, and only 96500 yuan in Guangdong Province, while the average salary in Shanghai is slightly higher, at 140500 yuan, slightly higher than the industry level.

In addition, among the listed car companies in various places, Jilin Province has the highest average salary, with an average annual salary of 142000 yuan per capita. There are only four listed car companies in Jilin Province, and all of them are located in Changchun City, which are 195900 yuan for 000800.SZ, 139300 yuan for 000030.SZ, 127400 yuan for 600148.SH and 117300 yuan for 600742.SH. These four are time-honored car companies, the earliest listed are Fuao shares, which landed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 1993, and the latest is Changchun Yidong, which was listed in 1998.

Unfortunately, Sichuan has become the province with the lowest average salary among listed car companies, with only 75600 yuan. The average salary of the five car companies listed in the province did not exceed 100000 in 2017. The lowest Xiling Power (300733.SZ) is only 61400 yuan, and the highest Haowu shares (000757.SZ) is only 83200 yuan.
