On the news side, the Baltic dry bulk index fell on Thursday, falling for the tenth day in a row, hitting its lowest level in about a year as demand for all types of ships was weak. The Baltic dry bulk index fell 96 points, or 6.1%, to 1474, the lowest level since February last year. The capesize index fell 195 points, or 15.9%, to 1031, the lowest since February 12 last year. The average daily profit of capesize ships fell by $1622 to $8547. The Panamanian shipping index fell 71 points, or 3.4%, to 2024. Average daily profit for Panamanian ships fell $632 to $18220. The index of super-convenient ships fell 39 points to 1773.
