[TechWeb] on July 24, 2021, the double reduction policy landed, and earth-shaking changes have taken place in China's education industry. A few days ago, the Enterprise Survey data Research Institute launched the first issue of the theme series "double reduction of 150 days: an Analysis report on the cancellation of Education-related Enterprises in China". According to enterprise survey data, within 150 days of landing, there are nearly 70,000 education-related enterprises nationwide, with an average of more than 465 a day.
From the perspective of geographical distribution, with the passage of time and the active cooperation of local governments, within 150 days of the landing of "double reduction", the sales volume of relevant enterprises in various provinces has generally doubled compared with the 80 days of "double reduction" landing. Guangdong ranked first with 8913, while Shandong Province ranked second with 7612. From the perspective of risk situation, enterprise survey data show that the number of education and training-related enterprises with operating anomalies from July to December 2018 was 9360, 11700 in 2019, and 11600 in 2020. After the landing of the "double reduction" this year, the number of education and training enterprises with operating anomalies increased significantly, more than 18000, an increase of 58 per cent over the same period last year.
In addition, the Enterprise search data Research Institute has found that head education enterprises are "the first to bear the brunt". In response to the policy, "broken arm survival" has moved to a new track to seek new changes. Sports training, art education, vocational education, child care and out-of-school trust for primary and secondary school students are the five major "survival channels" for the majority of education-related enterprises to seek transformation.
