According to Youyan rare Earth's official WeChat today, Xiongan rare Earth, a subsidiary of Youyan rare Earth, aims at the forefront of solid electrolyte research. United Automobile Power Battery Research Institute Co., Ltd., you Research Institute, University of Western Ontario, Canada and other units have carried out the design and preparation of new rare earth halide solid electrolyte materials and made outstanding progress. At present, a variety of Y-based and Yb-based high performance rare earth halide solid electrolyte materials have been successfully developed, in which the room temperature ionic conductivity of fluorinated Y-based solid-state electrolytes can reach 1.8 mS/cm and show a good match with lithium metal negative electrodes, while Yb-based solid-state electrolytes have room temperature ionic conductivity of 1.58 mS/cm and oxidation stable potential of 4.5 V. The above work provides a new idea for the design of a new type of high energy density all-solid-state lithium secondary battery.
