Tesla unveiled the Cyberquad For Kids electric car for kids on Thursday. It costs $1,900 and will begin shipping within 2 to 4 weeks.
The electric four-wheel ATV (all-terrain vehicle) was hugely popular and sold out as soon as it was launched, although Tesla said the order was not guaranteed to be delivered before Christmas. The Tesla website was restocked sometime on Thursday, then it was taken empty again.
In terms of appearance, this kids' ATV is very similar to the CyberQuad, only reduced in size. The children's version of the Cyberquad is suitable for children over 8 years old. It has a maximum speed of 10 miles per hour (about 16 km/h) and a maximum range of 15 miles (about 24 km). As a child-oriented model, the kids' version of the Cyberquad doesn't support Tesla's Supercharger supercharger network, and it takes 5 hours to fully charge it.
Furthermore, the children's version of the Cyberquad also requires parents to assemble it themselves; when it arrives, it will be divided into at least 18 parts. Tesla fans are also unable to give it as a Christmas gift to their kids because the company said the order isn't guaranteed to arrive before Christmas.
