On November 26th, Meituan released his financial results for the third quarter of 2021 (Q3). The data show:

• Meituan's Q3 revenue was 48.829 billion yuan (RMB, the same below), an increase of 37.9% over the same period last year.

• Q3 has an adjusted net loss of 5.527 billion yuan, compared with an adjusted net profit of 2.055 billion yuan in the same period last year.

Business dataMeituan Q3 catering takeout transactions totaled 197.098 billion yuan, an increase of 29.5 percent over the same period last year; the number of catering takeout transactions was 4.013 billion, an increase of 24.9 percent over the same period last year.

Look at it by businessMeituan Q3 catering takeout income was 26.48 billion yuan, an increase of 28% over the same period last year, and the operating profit margin decreased from 3.7% to 3.3%.

Revenue from arrival, hotel and tourism reached 8.62 billion yuan, an increase of 33.1% over the same period last year, and operating profit margin increased from 43% to 43.9%.

New business and other income was 13.72 billion yuan, an increase of 66.7% over the same period last year. The operating loss of the division increased to 10.9 billion yuan compared with the same period last year and month-on-month, while the operating loss rate decreased 2.7 percentage points to negative 79.5%.

The market had expected 2021Q3 Meituan's overall revenue to rise 37.2% year-on-year to 48.573 billion yuan, with an adjusted net loss of 5.24 billion yuan, according to Bloomberg data.
