[TechWeb] analysts at research institutions expect BOE, a domestic screen maker that has entered the iPhone supply chain, to supply Apple Inc with 18 million OLED screens this year.

Analysts expect that of the 18 million OLED screens that BOE will supply to Apple Inc this year, 15 million will be used for iPhone 12 and the remaining 3 million for iPhone 13, which will be launched in September.

Analysts also said that in terms of supply, the OLED screens supplied by BOE to Apple Inc this year will account for about 10 per cent of Apple Inc iPhone's screen demand this year.

Although analysts expect BOE to supply 3 million OLED screens for Apple Inc iPhone 13 this year, it is not clear whether BOE has received an official order for Apple Inc iPhone 13 screens.

It was reported in September that Apple Inc had given BOE a risk order for OLED screens for iPhone 13, that is, conditional approval for the supply of OLED screens for iPhone 13, as long as BOE resolved the product problems pointed out by Apple Inc within the specified time and fully met Apple Inc's requirements, it would receive a formal order from Apple Inc. Only after obtaining a formal order can JD.com supply Apple Inc on a large scale.

As for the OLED screen for iPhone 12, it has been reported many times that BOE has started to supply it, not only for the refurbished iPhone 12, but also for the brand new iPhone 12. However, the report did not say whether the OLED screen supplied by BOE to iPhone 12 this year is still used only for the standard version, the 6.06inch OLED screen.
