Singapore Travel Stocks May Gain as Country Further Reopens Borders -- Market Talk

Dow Jones Newswires ·  Nov 16, 2021 15:10

0708 GMT - Singapore travel- and tourism-related stocks may gain as the country continues reopening its borders, but domestic Covid-19 curbs need to be relaxed for inbound tourism to significantly improve, DBS Research says. The bank notes inbound travelers from the existing 16 countries that Singapore has a vaccinated travel lane with comprised 30% of tourist arrivals in 2019. DBS expects the figure to rise to 60% by June 2022 and 90% by December 2022. This should result in more upside for companies like ST Engineering, Genting Singapore and SATS. Singapore Airlines, however, may have already had its long-term recovery prospects priced in, DBS says. (yongchang.chin@wsj.com)
