Dow Jones Newswires ·  Nov 15, 2021 17:40

0936 GMT - Singapore shares ended higher amid gains in local lenders, leading the FTSE Straits Times Index to close 0.4% higher at 3240.58. Singapore equities are likely supported by the country's high vaccination rate and reopening strategy, Morgan Stanley said. It prefers banks, which have loan-book exposure to Southeast Asia, where a growth recovery is expected. Index heavyweight DBS was 0.5% higher, while peers UOB and OCBC advanced 0.4% and 0.6%, respectively. Other gainers included ST Engineering, up 1.6%, and UOL Group, which grew 1.3%.
