Shenzhen Pingshan District Investment Promotion Service issued a notice on the selection of supporting plant projects for 12-inch foundry production lines, pointing out that the intended site for the project is Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (Shenzhen). The product is positioned on 12-inch 28 nm and above linewidth display driver chips and power management chips, supporting the production capacity of 40, 000 12-inch wafers per month. According to the announcement of the cooperation framework agreement issued by Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation in March, the new investment in this project is estimated at US $2.35 billion and is expected to be put into production next year.
