Korea's Kospi Rises 0.9%, Led by Tech, Shipbuilding Stocks -- Market Talk

0649 GMT - South Korea's Kospi rose 0.9% to close at 3015.06, led by tech, shipbuilding and retail stocks. The benchmark gained for a third consecutive session. Wall Street's gains overnight on a strong start to the 3Q earnings season and easing inflation concerns supported sentiment. Memory-chip maker SK Hynix jumped 4.9%, extending gains for three consecutive sessions. Apple supplier LG Innotek climbed 4.1%. Shipbuilders advanced, with Hyundai Heavy Industries gaining 2.9% and affiliate Hyundai Mipo Dockyard adding 3.3%. Retailer Lotte Himart advanced 2.5%.
